Cancer claims president of sheriff’s benefit association
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Sergeant Grant Ward, President of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Employees' Benefit Association (SEBA) for the past 9-years, has died.

Ward grew up in Rancho Cucamonga. He became a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1998 and transferred to San Bernardino County six years later.

Ward said his mission was to “protect the interests of our members, serve as their voice, and act as a vehicle to enhance the quality of life in San Bernardino County through charitable causes.”

In a statement, the SEBA said Ward fought “a long and courageous battle with cancer” until his passing Sunday (February 1st).
