MoVal Mall closure: Three corrections done, others to follow
MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – City officials said Wednesday (February 25th) that six life and safety fire protection violations must be completed before the Moreno Valley Mall can reopen.

Three corrections have already been made to the mall’s fire sprinkler system, fire standpipe system and an emergency generator.

The mall’s owner/management will address issues concerning the fire alarm system, smoke control system, fire doors, smoke dampers and emergency lighting. The mall’s attorneys are said to be ‘helpful and cooperative’ and ‘moving in the right direction.’ But, there has been no timeline for the mall’s reopening.

Meantime, the independent JC Penney and Macy’s stores remain open.
