Oil prices put increasing pressure on gasoline budgets
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Gasoline prices are showing no sign of peaking.

The spike is in its fourth week.

The statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $5.61 which is 96 cents higher than at this time last year. That compares to $5.58 in Riverside which represents a 29-cent-a-gallon jump in just one week.

“Oil prices continue to hover near $100 a barrel, which has put upward pressure on prices throughout the country,” said Auto Club spokesperson Kandace Redd.
