Airbus improves hospital experience for kids
LOMA LINDA - (INT) - Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) as unveiled its new Airbus H145 helicopter.
The aircraft officially joins the hospital’s transport program and is designed to improve access to life-saving care for children across Southern California, especially in remote areas. The Airbus H145 introduces several key upgrades over the previous aircraft, including a larger cabin that allows for additional clinical staff and advanced medical equipment during transport. The expanded space enables a full critical care team to provide high-level care before a patient arrives at the hospital. The aircraft also enhances safety and performance, with improved capabilities in inclement weather, reduced vibration and noise for a smoother transport experience, and the ability to travel longer distances. “This is a very exciting day for us,” said Peter Baker, Senior Vice President and Administrator at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. “Last year, our team completed 1,100 air and ground transports, including about 300 by helicopter.” Story Date: April 2, 2026
