MoVal fire could be forerunner of volatile season
MORENO VALLEY – (INT) – Dying winds helped Calfire to contain a wildfire that threatened homes at the east end of Moreno Valley.

All evacuation recommendations and orders were lifted on Saturday.

Flames and dense smoke forced closure of Gilman Springs Road, Calfire said.

An evacuation shelter was activated at Valley View High School on Nason Street in Moreno Valley.

During the first four hours of the fire fight, flames had covered more than 35-hundred-acres. It was stopped at 4176 acres. There were no reports of damaged homes or buildings.

Calfire had no cause for the Inland Empire's largest wildfire of the young season.
