SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) - An investigation is underway into a weekend fire that inflicted major damage to the historical Roosevelt Bowl amphitheater in Perris Hill Park on Highland Avenue in San Bernardino.

The small building was constructed in 1934 as an outdoor performance venue and has been vacant.

It ultimately became a haven for transients who found ways to tap into its electrical and water systems.

There were no injuries in the fire.
