Forecasters predict changing weather ahead
MOUNTAINS: Mostly clear but winds to 30 miles an hour. Resort-level highs mostly in the 60s. Temperatures much the same Tuesday.

DESERTS: Mostly clear and quite windy with gusts to 35 miles an hour. Highs from the 80s in the northern deserts to near 95 in the Coachella Valley.

BEACHES: Partly cloudy through Tuesday, Highs around 72. Breezy in the afternoons. Surf 1-4 feet. Water 1-4 feet.

SUMMARY: An incoming weather system early-mid week will likely stir up westerly winds across Southern California. The strongest will be focused on the mountains and deserts. Forecaster’s confidence remains low for the evolution of this system.

It’s for certain that temperatures will cool starting Monday.

There is a slight chance of precipitation Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service says after that, cool weather and a breezy onshore flow will persist for the remainder of the week.
