Mother Nature in springtime mood
INLAND EMPIRE METRO: Variable clouds through the weekend and turning cooler. Highs dropping into the upper 60s. Early morning lows to to 50. A 70 percent chance of showers Saturday night.
MOUNTAINS: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers Saturday night and early Sunday. Snow level down to 6,000 feet. Windy and cooler. Resort-level highs mid 40s and 50s. DESERTS: Mostly sunny but partly cloudy over the weekend. Windy with areas of blowing dust in the northern deserts. Highs by Saturday cooling into the 60s in the northern deserts and around 80 elsewhere. BEACHES: Partly cloudy but cloudy Saturday night. Chance of showers ending Sunday morning. Highs around 65. Surf 2-5 feet. Water 61-67. SUMMARY: Two shots at spring showers are shaping up for the Southland in the coming days. KEY POINTS • Strong westerly winds over the mountains and deserts through the weekend. • Scattered showers across the coastal basin this weekend and light mountain snow in the higher elevations. • Below average temperatures, periods of elevated winds and additional rain chances mid-next week. Another round of cooler, breezy weather is on deck for the weekend as the Southland comes under the influence of a weak Pacific weather system. Chances for light showers are reserved for the mountains and the coastal foothills. Computer models are hinting at another weak area of low pressure forming near the Southland by later on Tuesday or Wednesday and another chance for precipitation. Temperatures will remain on the cool side. Story Date: April 24, 2026
