Point-in-Time homeless count
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Homelessness in San Bernardino County has taken a dip but officials are seeking to accelerate the improvement.
The annual Point-in-Time Count released Wednesday (April 29th) showed a 3.1 percent decline from 2025 but far short of the 10.2 percent drop the prior year. Of the more than 37-hundred homeless that were counted, two thirds were considered unsheltered. The annual survey enables officials to define progress in reducing homelessness and direct resources to areas of greatest need. They say it plays a key role in securing grant funding to resolve the ongoing homeless problem. Story Date: May 8, 2026
