Inland Empire earthquakes share similar epicenters
LOMA LINDA – (INT) - An earthquake described by some as a ‘thud’ struck Wednesday evening (April 29th) near Loma Linda in the San Jacinto Fault Zone.
The USGS said the M3.4 jolt was 10-miles below the surface. It was followed seconds later by a weaker M2.7 aftershock. An even weaker aftershock was detected Thursday evening with the same epicenter. Both were located about three miles southeast of Loma Linda. The shakers were the latest in a series of Inland Empire temblors centered in the same general area. An M2.6 struck Tuesday afternoon 4 miles southeast of Loma Linda. Several hundred people in the Metro area reported an M3.3 quake Monday morning 4 miles south-southwest of Redlands.
