Mother Nature turns up the heat, Southland will sweat it out
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) - Spring is at the half-way point and thermometers may produce some of the highest numbers of the season.

A warming trend is expected into the weekend bringing a moderate ‘heat risk’ to some people by Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will rise 10-20 degrees above normal for inland areas, valleys, and mountains. The marine layer and weak onshore flow will keep coastal areas cooler.

A fair weather upper level ridge of high pressure will expand over California and strengthen early next week.

By Tuesday, the ridge will weaken or move east bringing a few degrees of cooling.
