CORONA – (INT) - The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) has approved a contract adding two Express Lanes in each direction on the crowded I-15 from Cajalco Road in Corona to State Route 74 in Lake Elsinore.

The project will extend the existing I-15 Express Lanes approximately 15.8 miles.

The project includes widening up to 15 bridges, constructing auxiliary lanes, installing electronic toll collection systems, and implementing drainage and noise reduction features, the RCTC said.

Based on available funding, construction on the 740-million dollar project could begin in late 2027 and open to traffic three years later.
