REDLANDS - Several earthquakes shook portions of the Inland Empire Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first quake struck at 9:36 a.m. The epicenter of the 3.2 magnitude earthquake was roughly 4 miles south-southwest of Redlands and 6 miles east-southeast of Grand Terrace, at a depth of about 2 and a half miles.

Weak shaking was felt in the nearby areas of Lake Mathews, Beaumont, Highland, Seven Oaks, Corona, Riverside, Menifee and San Jacinto, according to the USGS Shakemap.

About an hour later, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake (which was later downgraded to a 2.8) was recorded in nearly the same location, according to the USGS. That quake hit 4.3 miles south-southwest of Redlands and 4.3 miles north-northeast of Moreno Valley at 10:45 a.m.

Then, at 11:04 a.m., a smaller 2.2 magnitude temblor hit 4.4 miles south-southwest of Redlands and 4.3 miles southeast of Loma Linda.
