RCTC officially broke ground on the Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway project
NUEVO – Riverside County Transportation Commission officially broke ground on the 8.6 mile Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway project on Wednesday.
The project is a major step toward improving east-west travel in Riverside County and making Ramona Expressway safer for motorists with an additional lane, raised median and other key upgrades. The project will improve 8.6 miles of the existing Ramona Expressway through a rural area between Rider Street near Perris to Warren Road northeast of San Jacinto. That segment of the Expressway has been plagued with scores of deadly accidents in recent years. The improvements will provide two lanes in each direction, add a raised median to separate the eastbound and westbound lanes. Story Date: June 24, 2026
