SACRAMENTO - A crime fighting progress report released by State Attorney General Rob Bonta on Tuesday said California is making major headway in the fight against fentanyl, traffickers and illegal guns.

Bonta touted what he called the state Department of Justice’s biggest accomplishments over the past five years during a press conference at the Hall of Justice.

That includes the seizure of nearly 18 million fentanyl pills and more than 620 fentanyl-related arrests.

Also, over 10,000 firearms have been seized, and nearly 1,200 human trafficking arrests have been made, according to Bonta’s announcement.

Bonta said the numbers are progress but not a finish line, and the fight against criminal networks targeting California communities will continue with stronger law enforcement partnerships. (Source: KTLA)
